About This Spot

It’s a place where locals and visitors alike arrive with a hunger for hearty, honest food and settle in without any fuss.
The atmosphere is quietly inviting — small enough to feel personal, yet lively enough that the steady chime of chatter and laughter never feels far away. Behind the counter, the owners’ genuine care shapes the experience, quietly smoothing over busy nights or slower winter evenings with a sense of heartfelt welcome. Whether you’re wrapping up a chilly November hike or winding down a sunny summer afternoon, there’s a grounded comfort here that lingers.
Food at Pizzeria 131 is thoughtfully crafted to match its unpretentious vibe: pizzas with golden, thin crusts that carry toppings layered with care; sandwiches filled generously, served alongside crisp, well-seasoned fries; and dips that invite sharing and slow conversations. The menu’s variety means everyone can find their own small moment of savoring — gluten-free options included — reflecting a kitchen that listens to its community. From inventive twists on classic flavors to the steady dependability of a well-loved margherita, each bite feels like a welcome home.
This slice of Bar Harbor embraces the everyday joy of breaking bread with people who appreciate good food and a warm setting without the pretense. It’s a spot where stories are exchanged over cheese-stretched slices, where the rush of the outside world slows down just enough to notice the simple pleasure of good company and honest eats.

Coming down from my hikes atop Acadia's mountains and along its wave-tossed shores (as pictured here) during the first snowfall of the season on a windy, cold November night, I sought out a Bar Harbor dinner spot. Pizzeria 131 was recommended by other community members, so I stopped in, and was surrounded by warmth and comfort. Light on staff at this time of year, the owners, Kyle and Casey, tripled as barkeeps, greeters, and waiters for the outer dining area. The food selection looked great - - tough to decide, but I went with a jam-and-bacon-topped burger. One snag - I am not an onions fan, especially not in their raw form, and so I requested no onions on the burger, but when it arrived, there were onion pieces on my plate, so I knew they were in the burger as well. But the staff handled it all so well.... they quickly cooked up a replacement, and I got to munch on the fries I had, plus a new portion, hot and crispy, served with the burger when it arrived. It was decadent, juicy, and nicely messy! And then, as so often happens when I'm out and about, the owner's quick check to see if all was well during into a great, long conversation about Acadian trails, the snow, and, as I recall, life itself. Kudos to Kyle and Casey and their beacon-in-the-dark, Pizzeria 131!

While visiting Acadia National Park in August 2025, we did take out pizza from this eatery after settling into our AirBnB the first night. We got 2 large pizzas and they did not disappoint. Thin crust and full of toppings. Pickup was easy even though the street was crowded on a Saturday night.

I loved everything about Pizzeria 131. This is the best gluten-free pizza we have ever had. 22 years gluten free and eat all along the East Coast, NYC DC, and Boston. I wish I knew about this place sooner. Just so much better than we expected, gluten free chili, chicken tenders and pizza-EXCELLENT!! Plus Kyle went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodate 3 of us having food allergies. Love the atmosphere, customer service and the fabulous food. Thank you!!

As a NJ resident, Maine pizza is good! Server was great, even brought out water for our dog. Highly recommend. I couldn't stop eating.

I went there early evening with my daughter to grab some food to go before a show. My daughter is always 50/50 on whether she'll like pizza, but wanted to try theirs because it looked really good. Needless to say she ate almost half of it immediately (pepperoni and basil was DELICIOUS). the food was so good we changed where we were going to grab food from for the rest of the house after the show. On our second visit, despite our rather large order (big household with teens) our wait was only a few minutes longer than the TOAST app estimated time, and way less than I was expecting due to how busy they were, and again, our LARGE order. She loved the mozzarella sticks so much she ordered 2 the second time, and we got another order of the Cadillac fries. Not pictured is the garlic bread she devoured on the way home since there was literally nothing left, and the cheese pizza my youngest grabbed half of before I could snap a Pic.

Easily one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. We were in town for a couple of days and heard about this place before arriving. We made the short walk over, and wow was it worth it. And Dani was such a sweetheart. Terrific service. We sat outside and enjoyed some people watching and great weather.

Excellent pizza on a cold fall night. We had a simple meatball pizza. They were sliced and placed generously on the pizza and were delicious in their own right. Well seasoned. The pizza cheese had a good mozzarella and a nice solid crust that was good from tip to end. The place had non-stop to-go orders going out the door our whole meal. We ate outside and enjoyed the clean Bar Harbor air.

Dani was super friendly and so helpful. She got us answers about nutritional info we needed as diabetics. The wings were so good and the burgers were the best I have had. We went during off season so it was slower than their usual. Fabulous experience and will go again if back in Bar Harbor.
